Back after 1 year and 5 mths

I finally managed to find my blog. I can't believe that it has been 1 year and 5 mths since I last visited it, let alone to update it! Lol...

Things have definitely changed so significantly. It's amazing how one's life can change, sometimes even without he himself knowing it.

For the past 25 years, I was leading a single life. Singlehood is not a bad thing; it's subjective though because people at different stages of their lives would want to feel loved, cherished and cared for. But being an independent and ambitious person, I didn't feel lonely or emotional during that time. I felt it was a time that I can choose what I want in life, to pursue my own dreams and have time for myself, without any restrictions and of course no objections to the decisions I made.

I am now happily attached to my boyfriend, Kim Han. He's a sweet and loving guy who rides a bike. He does things such as bringing me to places to eat the food I crave for, ensuring that I reach home safely by riding me to my house and walking me to the lift before heading home. All these gestures, whether big or small, have touched my heart in many special ways.

Although I'm in a relationship for nearly three months till date, I'm still learning to let less independent and more 'inter-dependent'. At times I still find myself making decisions on my own. There are also times when I couldn't come into agreement with my boyfriend and we ended up having cold wars and quarrels. However I'm glad that we would give in to each other and reconcile before calling it a day. We do cherish and love each other very much. :)

Today (31 Oct) is Ellice's birthday and we (Ellice, Alisha, Ah Dee, Tony, dear and myself) had steamboat at Marina Square. Dear went to Swensens to buy her an ice-cream cake. We decided to collect the cake at Plaza Singapura branch since we were heading there. We played arcade and some of them (especially Ah Dee spent quite a bomb on catching soft toys) lol. We celebrated her birthday at the food court and took pictures. *Snap snap*

The above are just some of the things that I want to share for today. I hope to blog everyday from now on, since I find it's a great habit to pen down my thoughts on a daily basis. It helps me to recap my daily happenings and makes me treasure my life more.

Do you believe that God would alway respond at the right time? If you ask me, my answer would be an absolute YES! We all face crisis at different times. However I am sure He is always watching over us and we are in His safe hands. I have experienced His salvation for so many times, in the right place, at the right time and I marveled with gratitude. Sometimes we are placing limitations on Him when the limitation is obviously on ourselves. We may be limited in certain ways, but He is never limited.

So yes, He will lift me up once again like He did. I will not be left un-restored. I will wait on You.

Ever wondered why some prayers are left unanswered? I used to ponder about this. Thanks to Joshua Goh for the audio sermons, I listened to Dr Bernard's the art of asking and I got it.

(1) For every effect there's a cause, whatever you are getting, there's a reason why you are getting it. If you don't like what you are getting, you have to identify the cause and change it.

(2) Conditions are effects. Thoughts are causes. Whenever conditions you are experiencing, your thoughts brought it all. Your conditions in your life are expressions of what you are thinking. Thoughts govern behaviour.

Believe that you receive.

1 John 5:14: This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ASK anything according to His WILL, He hears us. If we know He hears us, whatever that we ASK, we know that we have what we ASK of Him.

The question is:
'Is the real issue receiving or is it asking?'

If we ASK according to His WILL, the condition is always placed on ASKING, not receiving. If we ASK right, we'll receive. The issue is not on receiving, it will take care of itself. We can tell ourselves right in the face 'I believe I'll receive', but if we don't ask right, we won't receive. We need to change the way we ASK. It's always in the ASKING.

If we don't ask right, the application will be rejected.

One of the issues of asking is the TONE. It doesn't matter what we are applying for, the TONE must be right.

James 1:5, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives generously/liberally to all without finding fault and it will be given. When he asks, he must believe and not doubt. We must believe and not doubt when we ask. We need wisdom in asking.

Asking is the basis for receiving. The better we are in asking, the more likely we'll receive.

The attitude of asking determines the emphasis that we put on it.

Forms of asking:

(1) Ask intelligently

Our God is very intelligent. Education is different from intelligence, you can be educated but not intelligent.

When you ask intelligently, you have the understanding of the effects that you are asking for is going to have on the totality of your life. When you ask for one thing, you are asking a lot of other things that come with that.

A lot of times we ask God for something that would wreck our lives, and God in His wisdom puts it on hold. If we keep pursuing, quite often we will get something that will move us out from the perfect will of God into the permissive will of God. Then we have to deal with the consequences of His permissive will. It's not something He wanted us to have but something we insisted on, so He is allowing us to experience the consequences of what we asked for. He hopes that it'll teach us not to ask for it anymore.

(2) Be specific

As we mature in Christ, we become more specific in our conversations and prayers. When we were babes in Christ, we'd ask 'God bless me', but when we start getting things we are not asking for, we realise we cannot give a general term like that. Specificity affects me in the process of asking because when we are general and vague, we cannot be focused in our faith. Our faith loses intensity when we are too general. Like a lazer beam, when we get light concentrated like a lazer, it's more powerful and effective as opposed to it being diffused all over the place. We want our faith to be focused. The more specific we are, the more focused we'll be in our asking. How much, what colour, what kind, by when? The moment we put a deadline on it, it really impacts our activity. Of course when we ask we got to be realistic.

If we really ask begin to ask according to the will of God, it has a radical effect on our lives.

(3) Ask in faith, expecting to receive

What is faith? Faith is the willingness to take intelligent risk. Faith must not become ego. The question is do we have the faith to see through what we are starting? We would rather have a million dollar worthed of faith then a million dollars, because if we have a million dollars and we run out of money, we are broke! But when we have a million dollars worthed of faith and we run out of money, we'd get another million.

Four factors involved in asking:

(1) Attitude - our frame of mind, our way of thinking what we are asking.

We got to have the right attitude, attitude is everything. Our attitude can cost us to not receive what we are going for.

(2) Approach - our tone, how we approach people

Wrong approach will result us to not get what we ask for.

(3) Timing - are we ready to receive?

Faith is in essence the support of things hope for. If our faith cannot support it, to give it to me will create a crisis in our lives. God is not gonna to put on us what we cannot handle

Notice the time when we ask and there's quite a distance between when we ask and when we receive, God is strengthening our support. What happens between the time we ask and the time we receive is the time God deals with us. Quite often, it is to strengthen us in character so that we can support the thing that we are receiving.

(4) Appearance - how we appear

Dress for the right occassion. Appearance is part of asking.

One of the most important thing to ask is yourself. You must ask yourself what kind of person you must become in order to receive what you are asking for. If you don't become the person that you need to become, you won't get what you are asking.

This whole process of asking has an incredible effect on your life!

Too many things to blog about.

(1) Finland friends (14 April, Tues).That was a month ago! Hi Anna and Elina! It is awesome to know the both of you, hope you guys enjoyed the stay in Singapore (haha, as if you would read this =P).

We went to Little India, then to New Asia Bar at Level 71 of Equinox Complex (beautiful night view, a great place to chill and simply let your hair down!). We had steamboat dinner at Bugis. We decided to have 3 different soup base (ma la, suan la and chicken soup). Suan la tang turned out to be unbearable for Anna and Elina (hehee :X, but that was my fav leh). Holding chopsticks was a seemingly big challenge for both of them, but their persistence to snap a photo with it kept them going.

Our final destination was to a dessert store not far from where we left. The two Finnish gals had jelly desserts, Jol had durian jelly, Shing had mango jelly and I had xue er. Shing's mango jelly ice was considered the nicest, although my xue er tasted sweet and more zi bu yang yan. Many other photos were also snapped here and there (especially candid ones).It was fun to see Anna and Elina eat. I could tell from their facial expressions (fear, joy, curiosity, expectancy, etc). Haha

(2) 30 April (Thurs) and 01 May (Friday), movies and chilling with Yee and Sol.On thurs, I met up with Yee and Sol at PS after my night class. We watched X-Men Origins Wolverine at 10.40pm. We were all very hungry and I was craving for KFC (haha, like what Elmo says, 'this is a once in a blue moon food'). But we had very little time left. Sol suggested to buy in to eat! Haha imagine others have flying pop-corns while we have flying chicken??!! No wonder KFC have pop corn chicken, that could be how it got started. We decided to dine in at B1 instead.

Wolverine is worthed watching, Hugh Jackman looks dashing in this movie and also in Australia. Went to Pacific Plaza's Starbucks to chill till 3plus am. Fri 01 May was Labour Day! I didn't have cg, so I met up with Yee and Sol again (lol) at 10plus at night. Sol had a long day as he had barely slept. He reached home in the morning and went men's conference a few hours later. We were battling whether to sing K or not. But since Jol was still at home and the rest that we called weren't free, we dropped that idea and went Cineleisure for dinner at the Jap restaurant downstairs instead.

It was already 12plus 1am when we finished. Went arcade then watched movie (Friday the 13th, argh don't ever watch that, it was gruesome. A movie full of violent killings and bloody scenes). It was already 4plus am when we finished, we stayed at Mac till 6am to catch the first transport.

(3) 02 May (Sat)Service with Steve Munsey from US. He is very different from other pastors. He acted out a story of a preacher who was told by God that his true love can be found from a prostitute. He illustrated to us through that story that though we were wretched, also bounded by sickness, shame, guilt and eventually to death, God still chose to pay the price to redeem us with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. I was traumatized by his dramatic roleplay. Thumbs up! Steve Munsey please come again! ;D

After svc, dinner at HK cafe (ECP). Get to know Yi Da (aka Huang Yi Da). I realised there was something new over there. Yes, they now have liveband! Wah seh, so attas =P They sang many songs that I like. The atmosphere was relaxing yet emotional at the same time. Should have some fast songs too ya..

(4) 09 May (Sat)Mother's Day weekend! Funny drama beginning with 4 pregnant mummies. They were chatting and asking what names to give their babies and the final one said 'water break'. lol...

The mothers of the two gals wanted their daughters to get to know guys. But both attempts failed as the first gal (a Harvard graduate) met a blind man whom she doesn't want to be with. The 2nd gal who is plump is also not the gal the pizza delivery man wants. The mothers decided to bring their daughters to a marriage centre.

In the end the Harvard graduate gal met her dream guy who is the pizza delivery man and the plump gal met hers too and he turns out to be the blind man!

Nana was with us on that weekend! She was the first cell group member I saw after 5 weeks! I really really miss my cg members. I haven't seen my cg ppl for 5 weeks as the previous cg meetings were all on Thurs. Sob sob...

Anyway I want to thank Jol and her cg members for treating me like one of them. Haha Jas aka Jasmine Roo (Roo Roo?) Everyone of you (32 right?) yup you guys rockz! Thank you for showering me with love, joy, care and concern. There's no doubt that there's great love and strong bonding within the cell group. All new friends who come will truly feel welcomed in a special way!

No class today! Hee...

But you know what, I went all the way there to find that there was no class. They postponed it yet I wasn't informed! Trust me, I was really prepared to battle against the 'Z monster' during this 4 hour class. I even bought a cup of coffee (thick and rich, koptiam auntie's coffee won't lose to Starbucks) and lots of snacks to go through the wilderness. Hmm, since there was no class, fine, I'm actually quite happy about it. Oops. :X Mug at home lo.

It was a fruitful and enjoyable week! Breakdown:

(1) Last Sat 28 Mar - Pst Phil's svc! He looks more youthful each time we see him! He loves sailing. He began sharing, that each time when the current hits, his speedboat will be directed to another position, away from the direction he is moving towards. But with his motor on, he has no worries. He can steer the wheel back to the right direction each time it gets diverted. The same thing applies to our life. Each time when we get distracted by our daily cares and burdens, away from our visions, we can shift our steering wheel back to the right position. The control is in our hands. The control is definitely also in His Hand. As long as we keep moving and not lose heart along the way, we WILL surely get to our 'promised land'.

After svc, we celebrated Shing's birthday. We went to 'The Aston' at SIA Flight for dinner together. They have business class seats, haha mainly for phototaking and chit-chatting purposes. The food was yummy, Jol and I shared steak and rib eye, half of each. Just wondering where's the spicy fries which I had at The New Cathy, nvmind. After that we went to Bistro Cafe to listen to live band! I kinda love live bands, especially when they sing the songs I like. The song 'Hey Jude' was rehearsing on my mind for days before I finally forgotten to mumble it. But feels like it is here to stay!

(2) Last Fri 03 April - Had cg at Dbouby Gaut. After cg, my members went to the foodcourt just directly at the flat downstairs to eat. Nana and I decided to watch movie after contacting Jol. We walked to the new Cathy to check out the movie timings, then to PS and eventually we settled at Cineleisure. We bought the tickets at 2.35am for the movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Jol came after her meet up, bought us chips, not Calbee hot & spicy de, :( . Haha :P

The movie talks about a woman Rebecca who loves shopping way too much. She has 12 credit cards at her expense. One day she is retrenched and is desperately searching for another job to keep her massive shopping addiction. She finally gets a chance to go for an interview at her favourite fashion magazine. Before that she sees a green scarf which matches her outfit very well, yet her credit cards just won't let her as a small amount of each still hits the credit limit. She runs to a hotdog stall wanting to exchange her cheque for money to pay the difference.

'My aunt is in hospital and that's her favourite scarf,' she lied. After much talking with the hotdog owner, one man at the start of the queue decides to give her the money.

'You get your scarf and I get my hotdog,' he said.

When she reaches the office, to her disappointment the job has been offered to another woman who is tall and seems outstanding. The receptionist tells her that there is another offer at the same company as an advice columnist. She decides to give it a try but to her surprise it is the guy (the editor, Luke) whom she saw at the hotdog stall.

The story goes on, she gets into this job and an advisory report that she writes about financial spendings gets the magazines selling like hot cakes. She is soon crowned as a 'the lady with the green scarf'. Luke and Rebecca gradually fall in love with each other. The joy adds in when her best friend, Suze is getting married and she is her bridesmaid. While she hopes no one uncovers her identity as a woman who is heavily in debt, her pushy debt collector comes searching for her and consequently exposes her identity during a live interview. Her world falls apart. She lost Luke. Suze's trust is gone too when her bridesmaid's dress is mistakably given away.

She decides to give up her addiction and she begins to sell off all her favourite clothings, even her green scarf which seems so significant. She trades off her expensive clothes in exchange for her bridesmaid dress. True repentance. :) The story comes to a close with her reuniting back to her love ones and most importantly living a life of integrity and openess.

(3) Last Sat, 04 April, met my cgl Rachael along the way to svc, so we sat together. Svc by Pastor Kong was fun, especially the one on 'annoying habits'.

(a) Policy of radical honesty - learn to be a truthful person.
(b) Policy of joint agreement - never do anything without any enthusiastic/mutual agreement between you and your spouse.

After svc, we went Baba King to have dinner. It was a sumptuous feast! Five dishes: devil's chicken, spicy kang kong, bean curd soup, wu xiang and the final one very chim, but it took Kelvyn some time to finish. He used an ice cream stick to scrap the ingredients to the meat, haha... not easy. We rewarded him by serving him first for that dish.

Kelvyn drove Peiling, Elaine, Jol and myself to Eunos station. Jol and I eventually chilled at Raffles City Starbucks until 11plus.

I'm back to blogging again, after 3 days. First of all, I've finally managed to change my blogskin! It took me a couple of hours yesterday to explore and do all the modifications. So now it's up! Haha, I welcome any comments but I simply love it! I like it simple and clear cut. The first thing that catches my attention is the sentence on the left (You're just my brand of heroin). I find it catchy and somehow it has a hidden meaning behind it. I'm not referring to addiction but rather it's a driven force that will cause a person to be selfless for the sake of the one he/she loves. In this case it is referring to Edward & Bella's love in Twilight.

The picture is interesting too. Do the hands belong to the same person or is the one on the left Bella's and on the right Edward's? Does anyone have any idea?

At work, first thing before lunchtime, I saw the door handle resting near the basin because the one inside came off, lol. I used it anyway. When I removed the latch I realised I could not open the door from inside at all. Thank God another lady who wanted to use this toilet opened the door from outside. I warned her not to use as she would be trapped. I informed my lady colleagues at the same time. According to my colleague after that, when she walked past the toilet, a lady was practically shouting from inside to ask for help. In the end the lady cleaner managed to save her. Someone fixed it shortly after.

At around 3plus today, my ex chinese director came to visit us! He is now based in China but he had to come back for 3 days to see his dad who was sick. When he saw me, he commented that I've lost a lot of weight. I have to say it has been proven that I've slimmed down because when one says it might be subjective, but some many people commented the same thing! Even my cgl & SL (section leader) says so!

It was rather a long day last Sat. I went for class at 2pm, after that rushed down for svc. Walked past many many exhibition fairs, one of which was Adidas! Wanted to go in but never as I was super late, reached like around 6plus. It was already announcement time! Phew, thank God Shing and Peiling reserved a seat for me.

After svc, I had a short fellowship with Jol's cg and I went to logistic to look for Yee, Sol, JJ and the rest. Saw Si Jia, Peng Boon, Eugene, and many others there too. After that went La Thai to meet Jol's cg for dinner. Nice Tom Yam noodle, spicy enough although is maggi mee. Left there at around 10plus and walked back to hall 1 to look for Yee and the rest. Yee, Sol, JJ and I took a cab down to Cine as JJ's gf was there waiting for him. We said bye to him once we alighted and we walked to PS.

Wanted to go to HK cafe straight away, but realised that the rest were still in Expo. So we went up to a Jap shop to have a look. Yee saw a yellow neck strap and bought it. We strolled for a while and went to HK cafe as Sol was already very hungry. We reserved around 8 -10 seats. Sol ordered chicken rice for himself and po lou buns (erm HK fav) for Yee. I decided to share mango dessert with them since I already had dinner. At around 11plus, the rest of them came. There were Cass, Vincent, Jon Ho, Alex Yiu, Gaius and Jeremy Lee. We fellowshipped till 12plus before going off.

Slept at 4am that day, was online chatting and looking at websites. I hardly slept for more than 3 hours and I was on my way to JW on Sun morning.

Yup that's about all. :)

It's coming to the final week of March, which means the first quarter of the year is coming to a close.

Anyway, this blog has been collecting a lot of dust, spiderwebs and whatever you name it because personally I haven't been here for some time! But a lot of things are happening and I am trying to make it less routine and more exciting and meaningful.

I always feel a change is necessary, sometimes it is caused by circumstances. If not, the change should come from you. If everyday is the same, one is just going through a momentum and life becomes stagnant and boring.

Since the beginning of the month, I have been going to Expo for svc because of my class on Sunday which will clash with Sun svc 4 timing. I've been joining Jolin's cg for svc and dinner. Get to know friends like Shing, Wei Qiang, Verneia, Peiling, Li Jun, Pearlyn, Kelvin, etc.

Shing - song writing is cool and the singing is awesome, great passion! Jia you and happy mugging for your FYP. And SOT soon! Which I've always been wanting to go. Target 2011.

Wei Qiang - though your work can be tiring at times, but you are enjoying it aren't you? And you get to attend so many concerts!

Venetia aka DJD 'Da Jie Da' (suggested by someone, lol) - thanks for letting me join your cg for svc and fellowship. We stay so near each other, haha very convenient to cab home together.

Peiling - you are sooo sweet. =) Thanks for texting and helping me to reserve seat.

Li Jun - hope accounting gets more fun for us.

Pearlyn - so surprised that your office is directly facing mine, same tower same level and you even know my colleague! Is this a small world or a God-incident, lol.

Kelvin - didn't get to talk to you until last Sat. Someone who is smart and with a lot of experience. God is indeed prospering the work of your hands.

Thanks for the great company. Great to know all of you and hope to know you guys more. :P

The powerful speech of Barack Obama:

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.

It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.

I just received a very gracious call from Senator McCain. He fought long and hard in this campaign, and he's fought even longer and harder for the country he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine, and we are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader. I congratulate him and Governor Palin for all they have achieved, and I look forward to working with them to renew this nation's promise in the months ahead.

I want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of Scranton and rode with on that train home to Delaware, the Vice President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden.

I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the last sixteen years, the rock of our family and the love of my life, our nation's next First Lady, Michelle Obama. Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House. And while she's no longer with us, I know my grandmother is watching, along with the family that made me who I am. I miss them tonight, and know that my debt to them is beyond measure.

To my campaign manager David Plouffe, my chief strategist David Axelrod, and the best campaign team ever assembled in the history of politics - you made this happen, and I am forever grateful for what you've sacrificed to get it done.

But above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to - it belongs to you.

I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn't start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign was not hatched in the halls of Washington - it began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of Charleston.

It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give five dollars and ten dollars and twenty dollars to this cause. It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation's apathy; who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep; from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of Americans who volunteered, and organized, and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this Earth. This is your victory.

I know you didn't do this just to win an election and I know you didn't do it for me. You did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. Even as we stand here tonight, we know there are brave Americans waking up in the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan to risk their lives for us. There are mothers and fathers who will lie awake after their children fall asleep and wonder how they'll make the mortgage, or pay their doctor's bills, or save enough for college. There is new energy to harness and new jobs to be created; new schools to build and threats to meet and alliances to repair.

The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there.

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can't solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it's been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years - block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.

What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek - it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you.

So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, it's that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers - in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.

Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House - a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, "We are not enemies, but friends...though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection." And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn - I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.

And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of our world - our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand. To those who would tear this world down - we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security - we support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright - tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope.

For that is the true genius of America - that America can change. Our union can be perfected. And what we have already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.
This election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for generations. But one that's on my mind tonight is about a woman who cast her ballot in Atlanta. She's a lot like the millions of others who stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing - Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old.

She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldn't vote for two reasons - because she was a woman and because of the color of her skin.

And tonight, I think about all that she's seen throughout her century in America - the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the progress; the times we were told that we can't, and the people who pressed on with that American creed: Yes we can.

At a time when women's voices were silenced and their hopes dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for the ballot. Yes we can.

When there was despair in the dust bowl and depression across the land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a New Deal, new jobs and a new sense of common purpose. Yes we can.

When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy was saved. Yes we can.

She was there for the buses in Montgomery, the hoses in Birmingham, a bridge in Selma, and a preacher from Atlanta who told a people that "We Shall Overcome." Yes we can.

A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination. And this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote, because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the darkest of hours, she knows how America can change. Yes we can.

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves - if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time - to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

My blog nearly closed down, haha to think that that's the reason to make me blog again.

Last Sunday we went singing. I booked a room for 10ppl. We needed at least 8ppl, if not we would be required to pay more. At first I thought only 8 of us could make it, but who knows in the end 14 ppl turned up. (Yonghui, Wanyun, Jason and his Ms Sunshine, CK, Daphne, Thomas, Junjie, Bernard, Yee, Jolin, Mic, Boonxiong and I)

Woho!

I believe all of us had loads of fun. Just that towards the second half of the session, I was reminded of an incident which had affected me quite alot in the past. Silly me, I was rather upset after that. Hey guys, thanks for all the good and noisy friends for cheering me up haha. I'm not just fine now, I am feeling really happy now! Must be the joy of God. Life is never always a bed of roses, so it's ok to fall but must get up and walk (and even run) again!

Yoz! It has been one week since I last went for my trip from 12 - 19 July 08. It was a totally different experience as compared to my previous trips.

REASONS:

(1) It was our first time to visit two countries (Bangkok & Taiwan) at one go.

(2) There were only the two of us and we could only depend on each other and the people around for help.

(3) Expected hiccups had happened. Unexpected hiccups had also happened!

Nevertheless our Almighty God sheltered us throughout the entire journey. Every time when hiccups happened, God showed His grace and performed miracles. This was the first time I experienced God in such a tangible way, especially when we were so desperately in need of a miracle. He proved Himself faithful and our prayers came to past! Hallelujah!

We only had to top up another SGD 10-15 bucks to enjoy this luxurious room, which consists of one living room and one bedroom with two TVs. One of the TVs is a lcd screen. A very cozy place to sit down and nuah. ('',)

We went to eat A&W on our first day in Bangkok. That was what I have been longing to eat for a long time! For years, lol. A&W pls come back to S'pore. Hoho.

We were sitting in a To To, one of the common transports in Bangkok. It was 33 degrees so I had my shades on.

The back view of Mr Toto. You must know the story behind. We were on the roads when the wind blew my Adidas cap off my head! I was stunned and thought that my cap would be gone forever. Who knows he stopped driving and ran back. With his right hand he stopped the car and with his other hand he rescued my cap. Although by then my white cap had been rolled over by many cars and had 'neo-prints' on it, I was extremely impressed by his heroic actions! Bravo!

At Chatochuak (forget about my wrong spelling, hoho). At that place itself, there were no changing rooms. So basically you just wear this big piece of cloth over (like what Ms Jolin is doing) and try to change. I simply refused to even think about it.

At Bangkok, we met one incident. Jolin wanted to exchange SGD 200 into Thai baht. When she received her Thai baht, she noticed the money was little but she didn't question at that time as she thought it was correct. When we went back to hotel after everything, Jolin realized that the receipt showed the amount exchanged was SGD100 which means a shortage of SGD100 worth of Thai baht. We went straight to the money changer but it was already closed by then. We then decided to go to our hotel reception.

The night staff called the bank but there were some disagreements along the way. In the end, we were asked to go straight to the money changer in the morning. When we went there, we saw the same lady who served Jolin the day before. She apologised for missing out the money and she passed her her Thai money straight away. It was easier than expected as we thought we will need to wait for the headquarter to look through the security system before she could eventually get back her money. Praise God that the problem was immediately solved!

Here we go to our new destination, Taiwan (16 - 19 July).

On our first day in Taipei, we heard that typhoon had come so we headed straight home at around 6plus pm. We decided to buy mian sian takeaway.

We bought taiwanese hotdogs to eat as well.

The second day in Taiwan we went Dunkin Donuts for breakfast.

Interesting idea! The cafe had two levels. As the sandwiches will be freshly made upon receiving an order, customers will go up to level 2 to sit but they will be given a control like this. When the food is ready, this control will vibrate and have red lights to inform you that your food is ready for collection downstairs.

I love the ambience of this place.

Paul brought us to a bank to change money.

We walked past 101 tower.

On that day when we met Paul, we first went to Jay Chou's cafe, followed by to bank to change money. We also went to a supermarket where we bought a lot of instant noodles. Shortly after, Paul's member, Finny came. They helped us pack our groceries into a few boxes and carry them all the way to our hotel. That is so sweet of them!

We went back to hotel and rested for a while. We left there a while later and headed to Taipei Main station as it was the last day to buy our things. We agreed to meet Finny at 7.30pm so that he could bring us to their church where they would be having their prayer meeting.

However, we were late and we had informed Paul about it. However, Finny wasn't told at all as he didn't have his phone with him. At last we reached there at slightly past 8pm. When we reached we ran to Finny and apologise. He just said 'it's okay' with a calm and patient voice, without even the slightest sign of anger. Immediately after saying he took our two big bags from us to carry. . .! This 18 yr old brother is so cool!

Jolin's hand was splashed by the soup. When Paul told the watiress about this, that lady immediately came with one big bag of ice and medicine for her to apply on the wound. The boss even came to us to apologise for this incident. They gave us a plate of fish to show their apology.I was like 'Wow! they have excellent service!'

After the gathering session with Paul and Finny, Paul called a cab for us and we reached hotel at around 1plus am. After showering and packing, we finally slept at 3plus and woke up at 4plus. At 4plus we quickly washed up and leave the hotel a while later.

We boarded the cab which the hotel had helped us to book and headed straight to Taipei airport. We reached airport at 6plus am. Everything was okay until it was our turn to check in our luggages. Our luggages added up to be closed to 80kg and the lady wanted us to go to another counter to pay for the taxes. We followed suit but to our horror, the lady told us that the tax for 1kg of excess luggage is 400 taiwan dollars and we would be taxed for 30kgs. Which means we had to pay 12,000 taiwan dollars (equivalent to SGD600)!

We had only 1000 worth of Taiwan dollars left, we refused to pay, we decided to check in 50kg and hand carry the rest. I remembered Paul said always visualise that the positive things will happen. At that point of time, I visualised that we were inside the plane and chatting happily because we manage to avoid the taxes. Finally when we were able to board the plane, the manager of Thai airways stopped us as he felt our luggages were too big to put in the cabins. But fortunately after some discussion, we agreed to separate the things into various bags and he let us in. At the end of the day, we did not have to pay a single cent of tax! Our prayers indeed came to past!

Through these trips, I've learnt the countries' cultures and I was also impressed by their willingness to go the extra mile to serve their customers. It was a good break for me and I have learnt many new things through personal experience. I've enjoyed myself and I look forward to visit these countries again! ('',)

Just now after my work, I went to watch movie with Jolin and Allan. We watched 'The Happening' as we were only left with three movies to watch: Kungfu Panda, Sex and the City or The Happening. Jolin has watched Kungfu Panda, at the same time we couldn't get the seats for Sex and the City, so that was the only movie left.

We went in a few minutes late. When we reached the movie had already started. Indeed we were not sure of what was happening in 'The Happening', lol. Slowly as we watched, the people were evacuating because of an attack which was believed to come from plants which carry toxins. The main actor realized that the way to survive is to evacuate in small groups to prevent the wind from detecting them. Certain parts of the movie were rather horrifying, such as when it attacked, the victim will start to mumble strange things repetitively to himself and then 'unconsciously' committed suicide.

I rate it 3 out of 5 as the ending was quite similar to 'The Mist' (for those of you who have watched, haha). Because in the end the problem wasn't solved and the attack went on to another country or city. I was actually looking forward to an ending which will show a solution but yet it was that kind of 'diao' ending again, haha...

Nevertheless I had good fellowship with them. Allan drove us to Lavender food court to eat (chicken wings and chendol dessert) and after that we headed back home.

Wu hoo! Back to here.

Sometimes you just got hundred and one things to say but you don't know where to start. And sometimes you sense something within you yet it's indescribable. Well if you get what I mean, anyway.

Although my exams are over, I'm not in my rest mode. Have been having irregular sleeping hours and it seems like my eyes are falling out anytime. But firstly, rest to me is not to have sufficient sleep or time to laze around. Rather, it's to have time to think through and do the things that I want. A lot of things have been occupying my time and mind these days. What I really want now would be to settle my heart down and plan the things ahead of me.

Thank God that He has always been bringing me through every barrier. These few weeks I've been tired but energized at the same time. His grace is always sufficient. Faith leaks at times and that's why we need to recharge ourselves through daily prayer and quiet time. Thank You for using me. I have been stretched and will never be the same again. You're forever my Christ The Solid Rock!

Yozzz! I had my company dinner just now... We first had our dinner at Noble House, UIC Building. The food was really great, although my da ge says it's 6.5 out of 10 lol. It was meant to be a farewell cum welcome session. We did a presentation for Lawrence, my director who is leaving to be based in Shanghai. Also for Mr Kurosawa who will be leaving to go back to Japan. Can see that both of them were touched when they shared their speeches. Also welcome Mr Hayata!

We were supposed to end our dinner at 9:30pm to go to Partyworld, which is also at Shenton Way. However, due to umpteen toasting sessions, we ended up leaving at around 10pm. But thank God that we just have to walk straight and cross the road to reach there, yeah!

We reached at 10.15pm and started our singing session. We took turns to sing and we laughed and joked along the way, haha... Before our singing could come to a close, something happened. Thank God that Lawrence was around to rectify the problem.

Wow it was already closed to 3am when I reached home. And now it's already 4am. It's bedtime! ZZZ...

Yeah I finally bought my Adidas bag! I've been wanting to get an Adidas bag since January, but have only started searching last month. A lot of parties were involved in this investigation to check out if there were any discount and the colors available, etc. Love you all!

I felt even closer to my colleagues as time goes by. The bonitas (Agnes, Siowyeng, Leah), Kelly Lim, Cheryl, Vincent, Swee Hoon, Anne, Kelly Koh, Priscilla, Royston, David, Tony, Gerald, Ricky. Haha, each one has his/her own way of calling me. Agnes, Siowyeng & Leah will call me bonita (it means beautiful in Spanish, not self proclaimed hor, somehow we came up with this name when we tried to learn Spanish from Leah, from that on we started calling each other bonita). Anne my HR manger calls me Jas. David used to call me Mo Li Hua (argh, the chinese version of Jasmine flower). Ricky calls me 'sister in Christ', lol.

I've great bosses. Mr Sakamoto is decisive and organized. Definitely gonna miss Lawrence my director when he goes to Shanghai and Mr Kurosawa when he goes back to Japan. Must cherish the remaining 1 month left for us to work with them.

A lot of things are coming up. Easter weekend! Thurs support at JW, Fri will going for Expo 2nd svc, Sat and Sun at JW.

I had a long weekend. On friday I was out with cell after cgm, at around 12plus I saw many missed calls on my phone. I returned call and it was Grace. She asked me if I could swap duty with Simon to do logistics the next day. I agreed to report at 12pm on Sat. I reached home at around 4am on Fri night after much singing with Rachel, Rena, May and CK at K box. Actually we wanted to watch 'The Leap Years' together since that day was a leap year indeed but all the tickets were fully booked. Wow even the tickets at 1plus were fully booked! Hot movie indeed, lol.

The next day I left home late, so I took a cab down. Meet up with Kendra at drivethrough. Although we faced a few hiccups but I felt it was a great duty. I was impacted when Faye and Ah Qing shared about how God has changed them. Faye even wrote a song about change (was it a song or an album, let me go and check, hee).

I had to leave at around 6plus to go to Bugis' Sim Lim Square to collect my CPU. This pc has been giving me problems since its coma a few months ago. After its resurrection, it will faint at times and I have to save it again. Well might just get a laptop any time to save the trouble.

On Sunday I did traffic. It was fun but the main thing was the attendance was more than what we had expected! Praise the Lord! The two staircases were filled to the top and people started filling up the two main staircases. It was another valuable lesson learnt. :D

Happy New Year!

Yesterday marked the first day of CNY. Was supposed to meet the rest at 3pm at City Hall, but my aunt came to my house and so I left my house late. I met up with Erin at around 3:30pm and we walked to Marina Square while waiting for the rest to come. We went to make reservation for a room at K box for 6 of us (Erin, Yvette, Joshua, YuXuan, Alex and myself). Haha, the timing was from 10pm - 4am. After which we checked out the movie timings and realized that most of the movies were selling fast! We didn't get the tickets yet because we wanted to wait for Joshua's Safra card.

We went to Challenging Appetite to eat (erm hmm the food wasn't that nice). Yvette came to look for us, after eating we went ahead to get the tickets for CJ7. So Yvette, Erin, Joshua and myself went for the movie. It was not a bad movie though, but CJ7 looks like Chicken Little. I love that little boy and CJ7 in the movie! So lovable!

After the movie Yuxuan and Alex had already reached K box. We had a short toilet break and we were allowed to go in K box at 9:40pm. Yeah! We sang many many songs and now my voice is turning hoarse (cough cough). But it was an awesome time because it was my first time hearing Vet, Xuan, Erin and Joshua sing. It was also their first time hearing me sing. Ha. Lex went off much earlier, but next time you must sing hor.

After the KTV session, we walked from Marina Square to Bras Basah Macdonalds to have our Big Breakfast meal! I haven't eaten Big Breakfast for a long time and 'I'm loving it'! (their slogan)

We reached City Hall mrt station at 5:30am but we had to wait for the station to start servicing. By then Erin and Yuxuan were quite tired, so left with the three of us joking and chatting away. Finally reached home at 6:30am, it was daybreak but also my sleeping time. Woke up at 3plus in the afternoon!

Woohoo! Haven't had such kind of weird sleeping hours for a long long time (except the other similar K box session with my cell). Better to put on my facial mask before my eye bags shows up, lol.

Hey hey hey... I'm back lo, wahaha..

Hello! Ruff! Aloaloalo!

Just to make some noise here, eh eh my blog what, hehe.

Last Sunday I did Sunday duty, was shocked to be doing Hotel 3. It was my first time holding a comm in JW so when I was given this position to do, I felt like I'm wearing a helmet bigger than my head, cannot even see my head already. But Jas' kind of spirit is 'NEVER LIMIT WHAT GOD CAN DO THROUGH YOU' (that was what I was thinking then), so I went ahead to take up this challenge.

It was a challenge indeed, along the way it was quite chaotic for certain situations. But I like people who dare to try even though they know they might fail, so I myself must be like one of them. Big thanks to the TLs and SLs who taught me along the way. I'll get better and better.

Went to Mind's cafe with 5 of my team people at 5pm on the same day. They rock and we had a great time playing a couple of games. Well after that when we were about to go, I felt quite terrible and I turned pale. Took a cab home instead and ended up taking mc on Monday. Gastric prob. At last that was finally over. Yeah!

Many have said that I've slimmed down. Hmm, have I? Ai ya where got? Or have you not seen me for a long time?

Went to Michelle's birthday last Sunday with Singyee, Jiasheng, Priscilla and two other ushers. It was over at Downtown East. Watched a bit of Hong Xi Da Jiang at Channel 8 there, had fellowship with Alvin, Jolin and some Expo ushers. Anyway happy 21st birthday Michelle! =)

Will be sending my pc for repair, it will cost another 95 bucks, ouch. Hopefully I can get it back by this weekend. If not in the meantime I will have to continue using my office pc le.

Very tired now.

My office will be moving in May next year. Suddenly I miss the Christmas here, the joy of purposely walking from Wheelock all the way to Somerset station just to enjoy the lightings. Haha..

Well quite excited for the shift too, trust my superior's taste it's going to be an equally good if not better office.

Welcome Cheryl, my new colleague! Her first day of work today. She's able to speak very fluent English, Chinese and Japanese! She can communicate so well with my president and marketing manager, who are both Japanese. Wow to master three languages is indeed powerful. =)

That's what I also want to do after my ACCA, to start learning various languages, but of course it's OTOT (own time own target). Both of us went to Lido for lunch. Get to know her more and find her very friendly and easy going.

Less than two months to the end of 2007. I would say this is the year that I've been stretched the most, church, family, work, study, ministry, etc. It's now 1.30am and I'm studying wor, plus blogging and surfing the net during my break time, hee. Am often physically challenged, but my conviction is that that should not stop me from moving on. Many of us will definitely be tempted in our flesh, but instead of backing off one needs to find strength in Him. Don't start complaining, but keep giving thanks for what He has already given you. You will never be shortchanged.

Going back to JW next month! Kinda reminds me of the whole group of us during that time, (Yvette, Erin, Alex, Joyce, Singyee, Xinlian, Uncle Vincent, Ivy, Jun Hui, Terence, Yu Xuan, Boon Yang, Joshua, Christina, etc). I was from service 3, Sat 7:30pm, section 5 along with section 6 so these two sections will be called 5566 (xie xie zhi chi). At that time, we will report at 4pm to do support and after that have a break before meeting up at around 6pm for briefing. All this will take place in B2. Once we are done we will go to B4 and wait for service 2 to finish before we turn the place over to get ready for service 3. After service we will go for recycling, meet up cg and after that meet up in one gang to go home together. Usually we will wait for bus 242 and when we reach Jurong Point, we will quickly ta bao food from Mac/Mos/LJS and eat while we walk because we do not want to miss the last train! Ahh of course that has happened before and we will quickly share cab to Jurong East interchange to catch that last train. When we are inside the train we will walk from one end of the other before settling ourselves at the last cabin, don't know why, habit ba haha...

Although I believe a change is always for the better and am looking forward to what God is going to do in JW, I will definitely gonna miss the atmosphere in Expo and all the lively and vibrant ushers from grp 1 and all the groups. May the bonding, unity and passion continue to burn in every heart.

Had lots of fun last Friday and Sat!

Friday we went to Pitstop to have our fellowship cell group. Pitstop is a fun place to be in! It's over at Raffles Place. The gaming fee is only at $3 per hour and subsequent hours are only at $2 per hour. For every visit they will take a picture of you and you can paste it anyway in their cafe. If you want the photo, you can also purchase it for $1. Value for money ah! (PCK)

One of the games that I enjoyed very much was called 'Quelf'. In this game, there are five different color cards (red, yellow, blue, green, purple), each with different rules. Each time we throw a dice, we will land in one of the colors and we are supposed to select one card and follow the instructions. The interesting thing is when one ends up in a more challenging color such a yellow or blue, he/she needs to stand up and start performing or even splash water (haha, that was a trick, I was supposed to walk out of the room and splash water on my face. As I mumbled the word 'splash water', everyone thought I'm going to splash on either one of them and all of the sudden they vanished). If not, you might also end up getting up a card like my cg member (share an experience you had in Sri Lanka using their language. He started speaking with his Sri Lanka essence and all of us went fanatic.)

On Sat I accompanied my mum to see doctor. Glad that her cholesterol level is normal. Indeed when you first take care of His household, He will take care of your household. Her cholesterol had been super high for the past check-ups. It is relief that it's now back to normal.

Headed down to church after sending her home. Had support and shortly after did usher recruitment. After service we first went to Bedok 85 to eat (ate carrot cake, suger cane drink plus ice kachang from the store which belongs to one of my cg members' cousin). After eating it was around 10plus, we had a second round by visiting Pitstop again! Played Quelf, Taboo, etc.

I was quite surprised when Pastor Tan shared the story about star thrower, because that was the story I was thinking about for that week. I have heard of this story by a cgl so now it becomes a revelation to me. :D

With all my colleagues around, work has always been fun, just that there are a few hiccups along the way about some monetary discrepancies. However I don't think any problem is too big for us, we are solving the problem in full force and so the matter will be rectified soon. My big boss is now in Japan and next week my director will also be in Japan. Hope they enjoy themselves.

Took leave on Friday. So I spent that day by first going to Mac (the one besides Bras Basah), then to my school (SAA @ Aljunid) and finally to Tampines for cgm. This Fri will take leave again, I shall declare it as my REST DAY. =) Ha I still have about 8 days of leave to clear, plus 1 off day. Wah y so much? Probably because I've been working throughout the first half of this year, that's why.

Tomorrow will be my colleague's last day. We had steamboat and dessert with her last Thurs. It's really fun to have her around. Whenever there's event the whole company will always attend together and make sure things get done successfully. That's the kind of team spirit that motivates me to work everyday. Well Sha'an, all the best to you gal, you will have greater breakthroughs ahead of you! Must often meet us up ok?

Was in church last Sat, was supposed to have communion but it was postponed to this week. Around 10 or more of us did greeters instead until the end of praise. Although it was only for 30 mins or more, I could feel His joy. A smile does light up someone's day, especially when a person is going through a tough time. So greeters remember, your role as a greeter is equally important! After service, we celebrated Linda's birthday and she received a bag and mascara as her present. Hope she likes it. Shortly after that I had my internal traffic training by Lawrence.

On Sunday morning, I woke up at 6am and reported in church at around 7.20am. Ha that was the first time in my 4yrs that I reported at that timing. But it was fun to charge myself up and start the day energized. For Sun service, Yonghui was the one in charge so he was logis 1 and Grace was logis 2. At first I was supposed to be logis 3. However Grace was sick so I became logis 2. So logis 2 will be at door 5 during offering to make sure all the buckets are correct. However as it was my first logis understudy, Tze Hwa went with me. Yonghui also taught me that logis is to think and prepare in advance for the things to come. We did stock check after that. I was given the opportunity to do the stock check list for the week. It was indeed a privilege to be able to do logis 2 and the stock list on my first understudy.

In the evening was at Jolin's chalet. Didn't expect to stay overnight though. But really didn't want her to stay alone so I stayed. Rena also ended up staying after she called her mum. We slept at 1plus. I woke up at around 6plus and headed to take bus 29 at 7plus. The air was really fresh in the early morning. The whole journey from there to my workplace at Wheelock was one and a half hours. I reached my office at 8.30am sharp.

Overslept today due to two days of lack of sleep. But work was fun. After work, I walked from Wheelock Place to Centrepoint and settled at Mac to study. My recent habit: stroll from Wheelock Place to Somerset. =P

I'm back!

Received a call from Tze Hwa on Thurs, will be undergoing training to help out in Logistics. Had an awesome internal traffic training by Hui Er on Sat. The next practical training will start on 1st week of Oct. Was also informed by Youmei yesterday of the meeting with chief usher Alex for Oscar briefing. They are my role models because all their leadership do not come by chance, it all begins with hard work and perspiration. It is indeed a privilege to serve Him, the most High.

Oh ya will be attending Sun service instead of Sat for this coming week. The Japanese from my Japan head office will be coming to town! My president, director, marketing managers, HR manager, marketing colleagues and myself will be having a meeting with them on Friday. On Sat will be going to Chinatown and Little India for sightseeing. Will be a tour guide (soya sauce). =)

It's Sunday today and so I went to church just now and met up with Alex and about 10 others. He is another man of God and he began to share his testimony of how his dad accepted the Lord when he chose to honor God first. He encouraged us to give God time to work in the lives of our family members.

I was greatly impacted by Pastor Kong's message yesterday. We serve a first class God. He deserves our love, respect and reverence for Him irregardless of any problem.

Most of the time we are burying deep into our problems, always surmerged by our busy schedule. Unthankful, unsatisified, always wanting more yet refusing to change. Why is it that many are called, but few are chosen (Mat 22: 14)? Because many desires to be someone great, yet few are willing to pay the price, the price of being thoroughly molded and to go through discipleship that will eventually shaped us.

If we are believing God for something as great as our eternal salvation, we can believe in Him to make us problem-solvers and overcomers.

Attended service this morning. There was an overwhelming crowd but I managed to sit with my cg at Bravo terrace 3. After the service, I went to look for UFG for a while before going to Tampines to meet my cg members for lunch. Rachel my cgl and Rena my cg member wanted to get some clothings for Dr AR Bernard's dinner. Apparently they couldn't find any from TM so they decided to go town area to have a look. I didn't join them as I was waiting for Rena's (usher) cg to end. Anyway there are two Rena(s), one is my cg member while the other is an usher from my team, lol.

I sat at Tampines Macdonalds for an hour or so and I met my colleague, David. He was with his family members. Quite surprised to see him there. At 4plus, I met up with Rena along with her friend. Her friend alighted at Simei while we headed to Dbouty Gaut PS to look for the rest. I accompanied her to eat LJS first before going to Times to look for Cass, Michelle and their two choir friends. We went to 'The Face Shop' to test the nail polish and mascara. Haha, the mascara with shiny glitters didn't seem to work on my eyelashes so I stopped trying after a few attempts. Otherwise I could have bought it. Hmmm.

Anyway didn't stay in PS for a long time. Rena and I left the rest and she took train to Bugis to look for her mum while I went back home. I am happy to receive a call from my primary school friend, Zhenhong. I have lost most of the contacts when my previous phone was stolen and his number was one of them. Will be meeting him up next Sun after the morning service. It's Joyer Meyer's service next weekend! My cousin loves her preaching.

Yeah will be going to Taiwan taipei next next week! Time flies and it's just two weeks away! Will definitely have a great time there! Do drop a note if there's any shopping list. Will get for you if I can find. Smilez.

2nd night of FOP. It was awesome and filled with His Almighty presence!

Pastor Phil's messages were impacting and hilarious. The sentence which I remember was 'God do what you can't do, you do what you can do'.

Another sentence was 'God sleeps so that we will wake up.'

This is so true, God moves when we move. We need to be self-driven, we need to first step out in faith to work out the problem, receive the breakthrough into our spirit and He will do what seems impossible. Our faith works like a car, we need to start the engine first if not it will never move! And never turn away from Him when you face a problem. Why would you want to do that when you have the best Problem Solver around!

At times we can get complacent and started asking God to fulfill our 'wants'. I'm sure He has no problem with that. But didn't Pastor Kong mention that 'when you feed a man, you feed him for a day. When you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.'? Receiving a blessing definitely feels good, but instead of asking to be blessed with things, I want to be empowered by Him to accomplish my goals which He has planned ahead for me. The ultimate victory that I've achieved when I work with the Holy Spirit is going to feel even better!

The real you is often revealed when you faced a difficult situation. I come to understand that the problem is not the problem, but how one responds to the problem! That's why I love ushering. Many times we will face many different kinds of people. I learn to rely on the Holy Spirit, be sensitive to Him, self reflect, be sharper to the situation around, be wiser and also think and plan ahead for the things that might happen. At the same time, it's also about how one brings the message across to the other. Two persons can be passing on the same message, but one manage to solve the issue while the other might ended up causing confusion.

And thank God for those who bother to correct me! Sweet words will not help all the time. When it's time to listen, we must listen! When it's time to humble ourselves, we must humble ourselves! When it's time to change, we must change, so that our character can be developed to be more like His.

Hi blog, I'm back here after 4mths of vacation. But I did change songs occasionally and tag at times, so hey I'm still around. ^_^

From May till nowadays I have had many different events and activities going on. Every single day was just so exciting and fruitful.

At the end of May which was last month we had our Emerge. Although I didn't go for all these 9 sessions, (out of which I could only manage to go for session 5 and 8), I had a tremedous time. On the finale night, all the balloons were released into the air. It was a satisfying close. Although on that day I was at door 2 during the conference, what Pastor preached had impacted me just as much. We also helped out on that day, sisters to take out the chairs links and brothers to stack up the chairs. Weicheng, Rena and myself stayed till 11.30pm and decided to make a move first due to examinations on the following Monday. We managed to catch the last train to Tanah Merah station but the last train to Boon Lay was gone so I boarded a cab home.

The week after Emerge I had my exams in the beginning of the week. When it came to Thursday, I had my company dinner at Teochew Seafood Restuarant at Centrepoint. It was an awesome time at the restuarant and usually after our meal we would have our 'second round', that is to go for Karaoke at Cineleisure K box.

The following day after Thursday we had our Gatsby event! That was the day we were all waiting for! I can see how much hard work and effort my marketing colleagues had put in to run this event. The saying is so true 'tai shang yi fen zhong, tai xia shi ni gong' (for one minute of performance on stage, it is equivalent to ten years of preparation).

On that day itself, we were given half day leave. Thanks to my director, he was so sweet to give us half day leave as he knew that we had a long day on Thurs night. I went to Republic Plaza with Agnes to have lunch before going back home. Although I didn't take a nap, I had a good rest (sometimes to just sit down with a cup of drink and listen to music is considered good rest). I reached Zouk at 4.30pm and not long after I saw my colleagues and we sat there to enjoy the rehersal. It was at that time that I was told to help out in the reception instead of giving out the goody bag. I was quite surprised that they had given me this role as we were briefed during the meeting that that role was important and as there would be huge crowds. Agnes was in charge of that in the beginning but later she was asked to help to bring the VIPs to their seats so I took up the role instead.

At 6plus we decided to go for dinner so we went to a Japanese restuarant at Great World City to eat sushi. When we came back to Zouk, it was 7plus, the reception table was already laid outside the entrance. I saw a few people waiting at the entrance as well. I was briefed of the things I should do and a short while later, crowds of people started gathering around the Zouk entrance. I was in charge of the VIP guests and many came to me to make enquiries. I looked through the namelist and ticked their names, stamp the round chop on their right hands, give them the Gatsby phone straps as well as the drinks coupons. Kelly helped as well to give out the goody bags. All guests were allowed entry at 9pm sharp. Within a short while, the goody bags and drink coupons for the public were all given out. After that the public were still given free entry until they were told that the place was full and they would need to buy tickets to get in. The whole event was overwhelming. When it was close to ending time at 11pm, people were still buying the tickets to get in!

Jolin brought along four of her colleagues. I met up with her after the event and both of us together with my Accounts manager went to the hotel near there to board a cab. Jolin went off first as she stays further and we soon boarded another cab as well.

On Sat, I reached church at 12.45pm for the meeting at Hall 1. That was our first service at Hall 1 after some time. During the meeting, we were informed that Ivory and Juan Juan would be transferring to serve on Sunday service. They made a slideshow for Ivory which was so touching. At the end of it they also made the slideshow into a CD for her. We also welcome Meizhen into our service.

For that service I was given the role to be bravo 2. That was my second time holding on to the com set. The first time I was Echo 2 which required me to listen more.

Bravo 1 was Youmei and we ran the service together. On a few occasions I was asked for the number of rows left at terrace 4,5,6. I was glad that I was around there to be able to reply fast. When everyone settled down I looked through the arena area and began to fill out some seats. Most of the things went out well.

On Sunday it was prayer meeting. After the prayer meeting, I went to Coffeebean with Tizane because I had missed out the cgm for that week due to company dinner and event. We shared a lot of things and discussed many things together. After that I went to Simei to go to Weicheng's house. There were a total of 15 people who went to his house: Cass, Singyee, Jolin, Alvin, Erin, Gerald, Rena, Biondi, Meijing, Yunru, Wyelin, Jonathan, Michelle, Gordon and myself! Wow a group of united 1s1 ushers, hee. When I reached there, Jonathan, Gerald and Michelle were playing guitar while the rest were playing the murderer game, I also joined in the game not long after. We continued that game for a while until they decided to eat their food. After that we played the 'zhong ji mi ma (guess the number)' game. Wyelin had her secret receipt (consisting of tom yam and whatever ba la chang). Jon, Wyelin and Alvin got sabo and they tasted the goodness of the new sauce (yum yum?) We finally got on to the sharing of our first impression for one another. At first some were asked to say out the impression while the rest guess who that person was. Then we decided to let 5 of us (Cass, Weicheng, Singyee, Michelle and I) share our first impression all the rest. Good sharing, with laughter, hugs and tears. We shall continue our second round this Sunday at Cass' house. =)

I am grateful to God for the opportunities which were given to me in my workplace as well as in my ministry. In my workplace, I have such a great Japanese boss. He is the best boss I even had, I mean it. He will often cheer up the atmosphere with his contagious laughter. Whenever he says hi, good morning, thank you or bye bye, it is always filled with sincerity. My director is also very humorous and understanding. My accounts manager and HR manager are also the ones who will shower me with love, care and concern.

As for ministry wise, I really thank all the SLs and TLs especially Beatrice, Pengboon and Youmei for entrusting me to take up new roles and for believing in me. Not to forget all the ushers in this impactful ministry.

It is an honor when someone believes in you. But at the same time, we need to believe in ourselves that we can be good finishers as well. There is someone who will believe in us no matter what, He is Jesus Christ, our Lord!

Haven't blog for quite some time.

Last Thursday I went to my colleague's wedding dinner. I haven't attend a wedding dinner for a long long time! I think the last one I went to before this was a few years back. Well I think it's because I am still 21 years old so my friends around me are also around my age or only a few years older, still a young age and so no one is married yet, lol. The wedding was cool because they showed many slides of their past photos. So sweet!

On Friday, Sat and today I attended Rev Ulf's conference and services. I was tremendously impacted when he talked about missions. On Sat night he shared the experiences that he encountered when he went to countries whom have not heard of the gospel. Their standard of living when it comes to food, accommodation and government are entirely different from us. It requires one to come out of his comfortable living to step out to places where there are unstable living conditions.

The greatest love of all is God's unconditional love. Because His love surpasses all human understanding. Whether you are smart, not so smart, handsome/pretty, or ugly (by the way there's no ugly people out there, it's just a matter of self-esteem and how you groom yourself up), young or old, or whichever race you belong to, God loves us. Whether in times of failure or success, He still loves, He still encourages, He still have big dreams for you.

So everyone in this world deserves to hear the gospel, because God thinks we deserves His salvation and so He sent Jesus to save us. We must first be willing to step out:

2Co 8:12 For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.

Whatever that we've learnt today is to prepare us for the future. The bottom line is we must be willing to go and other resources will come into place because He is our Provider.

Wow it's February 2007, the first month of January has passed. 11 more months to fulfill our goals for this year. Jia you! ^o^

Had a fruitful weekend. I started last Saturday by going to Geylang Polyclinic to help my mum get her medicine. The medicine is to sustain her blood pressure at a healthy level.

On my way there on a bus, Alex called me. He stays at Aljunid and we decided to meet up at Aljunid station to go Expo together. While waiting for him at the station, Singyee msg me and in the end we realized that we were in the same train and also the same cabin, haha... When we took the other train towards Expo, we saw Joyce too. All of us then went for usher training together. During the training, we went taught about understanding internal traffic. At first the training were conducted in conference room 3. After that, we were divided into 4 teams and we went to zone Alpha to have hands-on practice. This lesson had equipped me and taught me the importance of working together as a team. When handling the congregration, we should also be wise with the words we speak.

After the training, it was 1.30pm and we gathered to have our briefing. My team was serving Bravo and we were under Youmei. Yeah all of us are in the same section! I was surprised when I was called to be in charge of Bravo arena but at the same time I believe if He has given me the chance, He will give me the wisdom to serve Him in that role. So on that day, Rena, Linda, Huifang, Shamus, Raymond & Benjamin served in arena with me. They did a great job and all the seats were filled. I was sitting at bravo arena 3. It just happened that out of the 3 zones, the walkouts came from BA03, lol. The first time a brother stood up and walked out of his seat. I stood up almost instantly and followed him till BA02 after seeing a security on the other side. After that I noticed his two friends were discussing why he was taking so long. Not long after they also decided to walk out of the hall to find him. I stood up once again and escorted them till BA02 like what I did previously. Besides these two instances everything went out and Pastor Tan was terrific.

Discipleship to me is very important. If one cannot be discipled, he cannot lead. Very often discipleship is going to be painful. It requires humility and perservance. It purifies. A goldsmith throws in a butch of gold into the fire. They come in all shapes and sizes. The heat is on and they are left there to burn. After a period of time, the goldsmith took it out. Some are melted and are pure and without blemish. But some are still as hard as before. At one glance, one can see that they are still coated together with small rocks. Eventually the goldsmith takes them out and throws them away. On the other hand, the purified gold is greatly treasured and it is taken to be made into expensive necklaces, earrings and bracelets.

Well on Sunday, we went to Bugis to have steamboat which we didn't get to eat the other time. We saw many usher leaders eating there as well, haha... It was an enjoyable time as we took turns to take food and drinks for one another. At first there were four of us, Rena, Alex, Deborah (Jasmine Leo) and myself. Erin went and joined us when we were eating. We ended up feeling so full. I can see that Deborah had a great time mixing the sauce. When we were almost finished, Alex dared Deborah to drink up the spoonful of sauce which she was holding to. I knew for sure that she would take up the challenge as I have seen her taking up another challenge before. Well she also dared Alex to finish up the bowl of sauce after she finished the spoonful of it. Alex agreed and true enough Deborah finished up the spoonful of peanut plus jar parlan (anyhow mix) sauce, haha.. As agreed, Alex took up the bowl and finished his as well.. Yum yum huh? Deborah then commented about the soup. Funny huh, if Deborah dared to drink only one spoonful of it, then Alex would have to drink one whole pot of it! We laughed out of our wits (no lah, I just couldn't stop laughing and crying at the same time only).

After that we went to Bugis junction and Deborah bought her blouse and shorts. We then went Bugis street to walk around. Finally we settled at Macdonalds and we had a great time fellowshipping as well. That was a great time.

I've enjoyed Friday's outing with my section and team ppl!

I left work at Wheelock to meet up with Singyee at 6plus. We went to Far East Plaza to walk around. Met up Cassandra shortly. While walking around touring for Cass' shoes, we saw Alex with his friend. We talked for a while then we headed to Wisma to look for the restuarant called Ichiban Boshi at level 3. We were the first to reach there. We waited and not long after Youmei met us, followed by Jing Teng, Emily, Lin Keong. We reserved a total of 9 seats together. While waiting, some went to toilet, some settled at Starbucks and others went to shop. When we returned back to that restuarant we were still called to wait. Pengboon and Paul have also reached by then. Most of us were starving already but we were still persistent to wait for our turn to come. When we first reached that place it was 7.21pm and when we finally managed to get in it was already 8.30pm. Wow we waited for 1hour plus. Nevermind, ushers are patient people, haha..

When we finally settled at our dinning tables, we ordered many types of food. We chatted a lot during then. The food was quite good. When most of us had nearly finished, praise God Esley came and she took a chair and joined us. We noticed there were some food such as beancurd and fried chicken that remained, so we suggested to play number game 'Zong ji mi ma'. We were so used to that game already because we played that during our section bbq outing too. A few of us got forfeits and so in the end all the food were finished, including the two slices of orange. Thank you Youmei for your treat. It was awesome. =) While waiting, I finally get to pass the gift to Pengboon, which I had bought 1 week ago. He has been my great leader, always patient, understanding, motivating and lends me a listening ear. He is someone I always look up to and he is a great example for his followers. Thank you for your excellent leadership!

We had at first won the battle, haha.. to go to Starbucks for a drink which was at Wisma level 3 as well. However, when we reached there the tables and seats were all taken, so we decided to go to the one at Wheelock. The same thing happened when we reached Wheelock Starbucks and so finally I suggested to go to the Coffee bean behind Borders where there are many sofa seats. Jingteng left us shortly as she caught a flu, while Cass went to her workplace at Paragon to take something but came back to us after that. Pengboon treated us for the drinks and we had a great chat. Haha, we were talking most of the things under the sun, lol. Finally it was turning rather late so Paul drove Youmei and Esley back, while Singyee took a ride from Jeremy. Emily and Ling Keong took a train back. Cass took bus 65 while Pengboon and I waited for bus 7 to arrive.

While waiting we chatted for around half an hour. We noticed the last bus could have left some time back so we waited for a slight while for NR7. When it came we then noticed that that bus wouldn't go to Bugis or Lavender. So we chose to take a cab eventually. Pengboon alighted at Bugis as he was going to meet up his friends, while I alighted at Lavender.

So that was all that happened on Friday. I slept really late and on Sat I was quite tired. I reached at 10.17am on Sat for support. Met up Rena, followed by Alvin, Alex and the rest when we reached. We also had an enjoyed time doing the bulletins. Sister Katherine, Alvin and I were in one group filling up the bulletins, while Rena and Singyee in another. We finished at 1plus and we decided not to go Tampines for lunch. We settled at Expo Hall 4 (I suppose?) to eat Ramen. Esley, Erin, Jingteng and her member also joined us. After that meal, Singyee went to find her member, we walked around for a while at Attributes (saw Biondi there, shhh.. don't tell him I am looking for a bible) and ended up sitting at Foyer 3. Esley and I chose to queue up outside Hall 8 in the end and not long after the doors were opened and we queued up outside Door 1.

I soon found my cg member when i entered the hall. After putting my bag down at one of the seats, I called Esley to ask her for her member's Attributes membership card. I saw Alex first so I asked him for his instead and I went to Attributes to buy a bible and notebook. I passed to Biondi before service starts so that he could use it during sermon time. Service started soon after and after service, Jiaying shared some messages and we celebrated Benjamin's birthday. I went to Logistics but went back to hall again to meet Keeliang. He passed me my policy documents and I went off to logistics and said bye to them. Didn't join them for dinner as we usually did after recycling. I headed home hoping to sleep earlier. Haha.. in the end I still slept quite late at 3plus.

Today is Sunday, now at home. Going to join the rest (Joshua, Deborah, Yvette, Erin, Rena, uncle Vincent and probably Esley after her work) to meet up at Bugis station later at 6pm. Yeah we are going for steamboat and it's going to be fun. We'll be celebrating Joshua's birthday too.

Oh I got to go off now or I'll meet them late. Haha.. will try to update soon. =)

It's 2007!

To rewind a bit to 3 days back: Last Friday I had injured my eye and as a result, I couldn't go to church to serve or attend service on Saturday. What an accident, I was wearing my hard lens as usual when a paper bag came and hit directly onto my right eye. For a moment, I thought I was going to be blind. All this happened when I was at Partyworld with my colleagues for the year end thanksgiving.

The pain persisted but my eye still looked normal. It was until the next morning (Saturday). I had a great shock when I saw that my right eye was surrounded by red veins. I could hardly open my eyes for at least 5 seconds! Tears kept flowing down from that injured party until I couldn't take it any longer. I informed my SL/TL that I would miss support duty and I went straight to the nearest clinic to do a check up.

I was the only patient at that time and the doctor was also shocked when he saw my injured eye, lol. He asked me to look at various directions while he used the torch to look at my eye. He had detected many scratches surrounding that eye. He ended up giving me a referral letter to SGH A & E to see an eye specialist.

The pain persisted even when I reached SGH A & E. When I finally got to the eye specialist, she placed an eye drop that miraclously stopped the pain. I could finally keep my right eye open for at least a minute. However accordingly to her the sad thing is, this eye drop will only take effect for a short while. True indeed, even before I stepped out of the hospital, the pain started again. Ouch ouch...

When I reached home on that day, it was already 7plus. So for the whole of Sat and Sun I was at home. Although I wanted very much to go out to join the rest for countdown, I had a fruitful time at home as well. I did what I wanted to do. I look forward to come out today, hee.

As I reflected back to the things that had happened on 2006, there were many things to cry about, to smile about and to thank about.

I thank God that I have grown stronger than before. I have learnt to live out of the box. Life to me right now is more than carrying the opinion of others. I have learnt to be more decisive than before, no longer bounded by fears or intimidations, but more of faith and expectancy for a better future.

My resolution for 2007:

(1) My family's salvation.

(2) Know the Holy Spirit more as a Person.

(3) Excel in my workplace.

(4) Pass my ACCA examinations.

(5) Plan my finances to start my dream cafe.

(6) Go for mission trip in August.

(7) Impact more lives with the love of Christ.

(8) Grow the house of God together.

(9) Etc...

For those who are waiting for a dream to come true, what are you waiting for!!!? Faith without works is dead. If there is no action to your dream, it will always remain as a dream. You are how big you think you are. Pastor says to conquer giants you must be a bigger giant yourself. When the world gives you a lemon, you don't stare at it my friend, but you squeeze it into lemonade!

3 things that will stop you from having peace:

(1) Regrets over yesterday's mistakes.

(2) Anxiety over tomorrow's problems.

(3) Ingratitude over today's blessings.

You don't get drowned by falling into water, you get drowned by choosing to stay in the water.

You are blessed! So am I! Let's live 2007 the best that we can!

It was Saturday yesterday, I reached Expo Hall 8 with the rest at 11.45am to attend usher training. It was fruitful and interesting. Shortly after that we attended the general briefing and I was one of them who was called to be the RSIC. It was challenging indeed but very good exposure. Emily was very right when she shared with us during the briefing that we should take ownership of what we are doing, whether is it a mistake or a praise. I felt I could have done better but I thanked God for giving me the opportunity to serve Him in that role. One should have the tenacity not just to take praises but also be responsible to answer for the mistakes made. It might not be a mistake made by you but it could be also someone whom God has placed under your care.

After service, Section 1 people gathered to take photos together. We took turns to take many different kinds of photos. That was such a fun time. =) Yesterday was Junhui's last usher duty, he was one of my mentors in usher ministry. He is a very patient and understanding person. At times we would see him when Joyce and I were taking train to Expo. Joyce loves to 'debate' with him, so he has many names, one of which is called '3 brothers', lol. After 8 - 9 years of serving, he is leaving to join sound ministry, sincerely wish him all the best. Jia you, jia you, jia you! So Joyce, Junhui, Singyee, Tizane, Erin, Geraldine and myself went to Bedok coffee shop to eat together after recycling. We had a great fellowship because we talked almost everything under the sun, haha.

As for today which is a Sunday I went to Jurong West church to help out for water baptism. A lot of memories filled my mind when I entered our titanium church. I love the kind of unity that we had at that time and I believe there are certainly even greater things ahead because God is a God of new things!

Ok I got to go and study le! I can almost see how my schedule will work out for the rest of the week: Tuesday prayer meeting, Wed on leave but exam at 3pm in Expo, after that meet up with Sing yee, Esley, Paul, Cassandra, Jing Ting & Wilet to discuss our plan, hope our outing to East Coast is still on k (cross finger, cross finger)? =) This week no cg on thurs wor, but heard from Tizane that on Friday we might have a evangelistic meeting going on in a hotel. Think might have to wear evening gown. Ha! Where can I find evening gown, shall see how it goes ba.

To all my beloved friends, jia you! No matter what you are going through, the Lord is holding on your hand. He will never leave or forsake you.

Birthday chalet

Wor ho! Yesterday had indeed marked down one of my most memorable days. It was my birthday chalet and what could I say but thank God, thank God and thank God!

My day started with me waking up early in the morning at 9am. Shortly after, my aunt came and passed me all the food that she had helped me to buy and prepare, such as chicken wings, bee hoon, curry and some utensils. When it was slightly passed 10am, I went off to my nearby confectionary shop to get the 3kg cake which I had pre-ordered. I came back home and at around 11plus am, Joyce called me to say that she had reached Lavender. Yvette would reach in 10mins, Alex was going to leave his house, etc... Haha... then I called Erin and she told me that Junhui was at Tiong Bahru market. He was helping me to buy the fishballs from that particular store at Tiong Bahru which was very popular. Later on, he also helped me to buy many others such as brush, blue tac and Merci chocolate (supposingly to be used for the game as a prize, but didn't use it in the end).

Well Joyce suggested to Alex that the two of them plus Vet should meet me up first at my house downstairs to help me carry my things and that the four of us should board a cab from my house to the chalet directly. So my mum and aunt helped me to carry all my things inside the lift (more than 10 bags of 'lobang') and I was hugging this huge cake all the while, not wanting any smashing to happen in any way. It was very heavy and I thought to myself, if they were not going to be there when the lift stopped at level 1, then that would be it! How would I be able to carry these 10 bags out from the lift with so many people waiting to go in? Wor! But you know what? When the door opened at level 1, I immediately saw my 3 beloved friends (or should I say angels? Lol...) They ran towards me and quickly helped to 'upload' all my 'barang barang' out from the lift. Joyce helped to take care of the things, while Vet, Lex and myself quickly carry the stuff to the nearest road to board a cab. Finally the four of us boarded a cab and went on our way there. Big project huh? To me, it was big indeed, lol.

We managed to alight somewhere near my chalet (at around 11plus) and we wanted to place our things in my chalet table first because I could only checked in at 2.30pm according to that pic. However we couldn't and so Lex went to the office with me to put the chicken wings, cake and some of the frozen food in their office fridge first. When we went back to Joyce and Vet, that lady who was cleaning that room told me that the office called and I was told to put the chicken wings in my chalet fridge instead because it was kind of leaking, (as in the spices that was used to marinate the chicken wings). So Lex and myself went to take back the chicken wings and placed it in my chalet fridge instead. Joyce and I stayed around there to take care of the stuff, while Vet and Lex took bus 29 from the bus stop to help me get other things and meet Erin and Junhui up at the same time.

Joyce and I were sitting at the bench at A for a while until some insects started to take notice of us, alamak... So we migrated to the one nearer to my chalet, which was building D. We sat there for a while longer until it was drizzling. So one malay staff saw us and told us that we could checked in. So happy because we managed to check in at 1.40pm. I quickly cooked the curry when we checked in. At around 3plus, Huiting reached and shortly after I also went for a shower. I changed to my black shirt but I was wearing shorts. Joyce was saying that my shirt definitely would not match my shorts as my shirt looked formal. I was puzzled for a while because she was right, lol... Then I decided to call Vet (because they were at Tampines at that time) to ask her to help me buy a dress. That problem was solved because she agreed without hestiation. Lex also called twice to ask what else I needed. So sweet of them. At around 4plus, Junhui, Vet, Lex and Erin reached. I wanted to pay them for my dress, fishballs and everything they had helped me to buy but they just wouldn't take my money. They insisted that all these were 'blessings' for my birthday. Alamak... but anyway must remember I owe you guys a treat okay? =)

All who were there at that time said a prayer together. We prayed for Christ's presence to come into the chalet and we lifted up everything to His control. At 5plus, many others reached, such as Mingze, Rena, Singyee, etc. They helped to decorate the place, bring out the food from the kitchen to the bench tables outside, near the bbq pit. Rena also helped to buy sushi and wasabi (must remind me to pay you on Sat k?) for the later sabo, muz haha... hehe... Mingze and Junhui helped to start the fire. They were holding on to the charcoal with their bare hands and their hands were all black and that was very funny. I noticed the tongs that I had were not enough and they were also too small. But almost instantly I saw uncle Vincent crossing over from opposite and he had two big tongs with him inside the plastic bags! He also bought big chopsticks which we could use for the food. Also many others such as prawns, fruits, etc... He just kept grinning saying as long as we are all happy can liao lah. Wow! I just couldn't stop praising God because He would always send angels to help me when I needed them most. ^_^

We laughed and joked along the way while cooking and waiting for the rest to come. I didn't even know who was so smart to have noticed those extra chairs over at one of the store room and they took out so that most of the people outside could sit. They also helped to mix the drinks and refilled again when it was running out. (Wow you guys are terrfic!) Fabian and Alvin also arrived at around 6plus, many others arrived at 7plus.

Then don't know from when, my usual ka keis (buddies) decided to play games. They were sitting on the chairs together in a circle. I wasn't really joining them as I was attending to some of my friends who arrived at that time. At some point of time during their game, they called me and I noticed Mingze got a forfeit. He went up to level 2 while the rest asked the rest of the crowd for attention. He was kind of shouting from the window at level 2 saying, 'My Juliet, Jasmine, Happy Birthday, I'm your Romeo...' Ah alamak so pai seh sia...! That's not over yet. Not long after, someone among their group got a forfeit again. This time it was Junhui. I didn't even know what was going on and they asked me there again. I looked at him with more than a thousand question marks on my brain and I asked him what was his forfeit. I was still quite puzzled because I didn't know what was going on! He hold my hand and I thought the forfeit was just to say happy birthday to me. Then I thought oh just hold hand and say happy birthday ah, this was fine. But who knows he hold my hand and almost knelt down. Aiyo please why play this kind of game at that time, so jia let. I had to run to the kitchen immediately to stop this.

Some of my colleagues such as Agnes and her family (her two sons are so cute, when I walked passed them they were calling 'birthday girl, birthday girl', simply adorable). Mr Ong's and David's family also came and at 8plus. Siowyeng, Leah, Sweehoon, Lawrence, Gerald also arrived. When Mr Ong and his family were about to leave, Joyce suggested that I should cut cake before they leave. So they stayed for a while. I loved all my ka keis, because they are so sharp and quick in action. So they instantly went to prepare the cake and put the candles, while other quickly helped me to put aside all the things on one of the bench tables so that they could place the cake. When everything was ready, they sang me a birthday song (or should I say two because also have chinese version, lol). I made a wish and did a slight cut on the cake. Mayce and Tizane helped to gather the different groups of people to take pictures with me, such as my primary and secondary school friends, colleagues, ushers, cell group. My ka keis helped to cut my cake to give out to all my friends and colleagues, etc. They also helped to serve ice cream (thank you uncle Vincent for buying). Many brothers also helped to cook the food so that the people had enough food all the time.

It was a while later when I decided that we should play games. We started with H20 and my insurance advisor, Vincent also joined in the game. Cool! Haha, quite many people got 'saboed' and they had to take sushi with wasabi. Haha, the first two who had forfeits were Fabian and Linda. I thought it was the most severe of all since it was the first round and we placed quite a thick portion of wasabi on their sushi. It was so 'hot' that I saw tears in their eyes. Erin and Rena seemed to have phobia with wasabi and they simply would not want to have forfeit so that they could avoid eating that. But in the end both of them lost once but I decided to only put a very very thin coat on their sushi, so it was not so jia let afterall lah, hehe...

We had several games after that and they were all very fun because the people were laughing non-stop! The game master was Joshua, someone who always has new games on his mind. The games were:

1. Go-jump-go, go-jump-back, go-jump-1.
2. Oh yeah! Bunk house, arms down, he ha!

All the games were very fun. Linda and Erika were caught many times in the game but their responses were very cute when they didn't know what to say when it was their turn, lol.

We played till 10.10pm, thanks to Tizane's phone alarm, it seemed that Joshua always wanted to hijack it by stepping on her phone, lol. All of them were so awesome because they helped me to clear up all the things before going back. My mum and two aunts came but only for a while because they had to catch the last bus to go back. Praise God! One of my aunts actually helped me to find the aircon remote control (close to the fridge) which I had been searching for so long!

Finally after they went back, we settled down at the living room. Alvin, Erin and Eileen were playing Uno and Terence arrived shortly. He was hungry so we decided to order Mac delivery. Alex also reached shortly after his work, Deborah as well... We sat at the sofa and started playing some of the games we had previously played again, while waiting for our food to come. The food arrived close to 2am if i'm not wrong. After eating, we decided to go up and took turns to shower. When it was bedtime, we were determined to find the switch for the aircon and so I took the keys to open the back door and we found the switch! Praise God we had aircon so that we could have a comfortable sleep!

This morning I woke up at 9plus am. I packed my things and went downstairs. Alvin cooked the packet of hotdogs which he had reserved yesterday. We took some cake and hotdogs plus chocolate bread for breakfast. At 10.30am, Aloha staff came to check the place and thank God there were no extra charges when I checked out. Well, I think part of it was because we couldn't find the switch for the whole of yesterday afternoon so we didn't use the aircon at all, (had been using fan). It was until night time that God had helped us to find the switched so that we could sleep well. Wow, praise God, praise God and praise God!

When I reached home I unpacked my things and went to sleep at 3plus pm, woke up at 9plus pm.

Thank you to all my guardian angels such as Joyce, Vet, Lex, Erin, Junhui, Uncle Vincent, Deborah, Rena, Singyee, Tizane, Joshua, Geraldine, Mingze, Terence and many others who had helped to cook the food, served the people, etc. Really would not expect what would happen if you guys were not around! You guys always find a need and meet it. To all these beloved angels, love you all loads!

HAPPY, SHA LALALA... =P

After receiving 'feedbacks' that my blog only contains songs, I really feel I should write something, haha... Actually I have many things going on in my life, probably too many things that I don't have much time for blogging.

Today is a Sunday, a rest day for me. However, I have a little sniff here and there. But no problem, will recover soon.

Yesterday I was serving Charile Arena 2, which was in the centre where all the pastors were sitting in the front row. I have served there before, but it was rather challenging yesterday, as I noticed 1 empty seat over at row 3 after everyone had settled down at their seats. However before offering time, that seat was filled. Then when I came back after placing the offering buckets at logistics, I noticed row 4 first seat was empty! Well, that seat was also filled in the end. It was because in my zone there were 3 ushers sisters squeezing in another row and one of them (who is a zone ic) noticed that empty seat and went to fill it. I really want to thank God for this because I remembered I had said a prayer that I had lifted up my zone to His hand. He is faithful indeed and the whole zone was filled. Hallelujah!

Yesterday I was also 'set free'. I was previously rather upset with myself due to certain things happening in my life. There was a point of time I felt my life was going on like a life cycle: I have to work very hard and I have to study very hard for my upcoming exams. My schedule for every week revolved with all this preparation all the time and I had ended up really physically tired. And it could be due to all this that I felt I could have done better for other things and this had caused me to feel less confident and probably more weary, which would definitely become a hindrance to my walk with God if it went on. I knew it could be that I had been using my strength all the while.

Many times I cried before God and asked for His help. I felt He had used Rev Ulf to speak to me during yesterday's service. I heard Rev Ulf said something like 'There is someone who has guilt in him. You have repented and the Lord wants to say to you that you are forgiven'.

With just these two sentences God had totally released me! He had released me from a burden which I had been carrying on my shoulders, so heavy that it had weighed me down spiritually like an old lady with a serious hunchback. I was really ministered to at that moment and I just kept praising God. I felt refreshed and recharged once again by His Almighty presence. Praise the Lord!

I felt the greatest killer to our self-esteem is our mind. The moment we feel we are limited to what we can do, we will 'help ourselves to limit' our future successes and accomplishments. On the contrary, when we are bold and confident, success is always with us. We can gain daily victories and even when problem arises (which definitely will in one way or another), we can face it with faith and be a problem-solver!

There will be times when we would feel discouraged or lost in the situation that we are going through. But thank God for His faithfulness, He is forever our refuge, for He says in His word that 'If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.' (2 Tim 2:13).' Therefore don't turn away from Him, turn to Him. He will help you.
