Luke 23:34 - 'Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.'"
Yesterday and on Saturday were two very awesome days. I went for Easter celebration at the Indoor Stadium. Met up with many people, so happy!
Our church had specially made a performance for everyone. I watched this performance thrice. It reached the part when Jesus was being brutally whipped and nailed onto the cross.. i just kept weeping and weeping. The song also touched me deeply (the chorus goes something like this: forgive them, so they can keep on living...)
Jesus took all this for us. He willingly went through ordeal of this unfair trial so that you and I could be set free. Jesus is the best example we can follow. He is Christlike for when He was attacked, He still ordered His friends not to fight back. (He mentioned in the book of Matthew to love our enemies remember?)
Jesus could have asked the angels to fight the Romans. But He wasn't planning to escape. He suffered this humiliation like an innocent lamb and willingly gave up His life. Our wonderful Jesus then resurrected on the third day.
Have we really thanked Him for that?
Let us learn to appreciate Him every day.
God bless you!
